If you feel like you're comfortable with trading and understand all the risks, you may want to apply for a live account. To do so tap on your virtual balance at the top of the screen. When you do, you'll see an orange button. Tap on it and you'll start the application process.
It may seem a bit more involved. That's because the information you're putting in here is basically used as a background check to make sure you're both who you say you are and eligible to trade.
Step 1 is the application process. For this part you'll need to give a few details about yourself including your date of birth, address and National Insurance number.
If everything with Step 1 is okay, you'll go on to Step 2, which requires you to upload photos of documents
You will need to submit two kinds of documents - proof of identity and proof of address.
Proof of Identity - accepted documents
For Proof of Identity you can submit
Proof of Address - accepted documents
We can accept one of the following document types:
Bank/Credit Card Statement, Electricity/Gas/Water Bill, Telephone/Internet Bill, Government-issued document (e.g. council/residential tax, income tax statement)
Please also make sure that the document shows your full name, Residential address, Document issue date (the document must be dated within the last 6 months).
Photos of E-statements for any of these are acceptable as long as they contain the necessary information.
If you have any issue submitting via the in app function, you can also take pictures from outside the app and use those.
If you have any other issue please contact support via the speech bubble icon in the top right corner of the screen.
You may have to resubmit documents if the images are not clear.
The process for approval can take 2-3 days. We will inform you if anything else needs to be submitted or resubmitted. You are free to continue using virtual mode in the mean time.
